Tyler Knell Tyler’s involvement in San Diego Junior Theatre began back at age 9 in the year 1997, thanks in large part to the urging of some of his friends at the time. While still reluctant to perform for an audience, he began to participate in summer camp and classes before finally auditioning at age 10. His first show, “The Wizard of Oz,” was such a fun and inspiring experience for him that he has continued to perform at and remain involved with SDJT in nearly every aspect for the next 9 years. His favorite memories include “Oliver!” in which he met some of the best friends he has ever had, and the Advanced Musical Theatre production of “Into the Woods,” during which he felt blessed to be able to act alongside some of Junior Theatre’s most talented students in a unique setting. Tyler currently attends the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts as a film production major. Some of his short films have been screened at film festivals throughout the San Diego and Los Angeles areas and he hopes to use the many skills that he has learned from his time at Junior Theatre in becoming a successful film director at the next level. He would like to thank Desha Crownover, Will Neblett, Mike Anthony, and all of the students, instructors, directors, and parents that have made San Diego Junior Theatre an unforgettable experience for him.
