Bill Simmons

Bill Simmons is now Bill Polk. Bill is Mohawk and after marrying Jennifer Polk, took her clan ties. They are both retired from the San Diego Unified School District. Their 7 year old daughter Ayla has done numerous productions at the Casa Del Prado Theatre with the San Diego Civic Youth Ballet. From Bill’s first production, “Ali Baba” (1975) to the last, “Babes in Toyland” (1983), the J.T. family was instrumental in Bill’s preparedness to serve. Whether as a U.S. Army Military Police officer, S.D.P.D. officer or teaching Severely Emotionally Disturbed Special Ed. students for the district, the theatrical experience he received was a key to his success. Now in the life of Chinook dog breeder and family man, Bill says: “When I burst out singing, it is because J.T. put a song in my heart so long ago. I want to thank San Diego Junior Theatre for making musicals seem real. Because they can be!”
