Jason Kent

Jason Kent is a partner in the Emerging Companies and Public Companies practice groups and a member of the Cooley Godward Kronish Business department. He joined the Firm in June 2000 and is resident in the San Diego office. The Firm's San Diego office was recently named the #1 firm in San Diego as ranked by area corporate board members, according to Corporate Board Member magazine. Mr. Kent represents private and public technology companies in a wide range of corporate and securities matters, including private financings, public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance matters, and employment and compensation arrangements. He also represents venture capital funds and investment banking firms in connection with private financings and public offerings. Mr. Kent represents companies in the biotechnology, medical device, software, semiconductor, retail, wireless, internet and education industries. His clients range from start-ups to companies with hundreds of millions of dollars in annual revenues. In 2007, Mr. Kent was named by his peers and colleagues to the "Top San Diego County Attorneys" list in the category of Corporate Transactional, as published by the San Diego Daily Transcript. In 1998, Mr. Kent received his J.D., with distinction, from Stanford Law School, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif. In 1995 he graduated summa cum laude from Claremont McKenna College, earning his B.A. in Economics and Accounting. Mr. Kent is a member of the State Bar of California, the American Bar Association and the San Diego County Bar Association.
