Suzy Schierholt Smith had a blast at Junior Theatre from 1980-1984 starting with being on the crew for "I Sincerely Doubt This Old House Is Very Haunted" at the Puppet Theatre while the Casa del Prado was being remodeled. Favorite memories include being in or being on the crew for "Heidi, "Babes in Toyland," "Anything Goes," "Midsummer Night's Dream," "Mary Poppins," and her personal favorite "Snow White" (how incredibly cute was Andy Collins as Prince Charming?). After leaving Junior Theatre and SCPA in 1984, Suzy headed off to the University of Miami in Florida to obtain degrees in political science and economics. While in Miami, Suzy had her biggest (ha-ha) moments in show business as a model and extra (on such fabulous gigs as the movie "Revenge of Nerds Part II" and episodes of "Miami Vice"). After living and working in San Francisco and Seattle, Suzy returned to San Diego and received a Master's degree in Rhetoric from San Diego State. She has fun at her job as a technical writer for the software company Adobe. Happily married to Kent Smith since 1997, Suzy has a son named Kellen and a daughter named Schuyler that attend Longfellow Spanish Immersion Magnet School in the Bay Park neighborhood of San Diego. Kellen and Schuyler are also proud second generation Junior Theatre students. Suzy frequently forces her family to listen to original Broadway cast albums and Internet radio stations that play songs from the Great American Songbook. She will play "Name That Tune" with anyone who dares.
