Dear Student,

San Diego Junior Theatre is excited to announce a special opportunity! This year, we will offer 4 students yearlong scholarships for theatre classes and camps at Junior Theatre. Students between the ages of 8 and 17 are invited to apply for a Christian Rowley Scholarship. Christian Rowley was a Junior Theatre student, who passed away unexpectedly on a trip to Mexico. His family has graciously created this scholarship so that other young people could participate in Junior Theatre, like Christian had. The scholarships will be awarded on Friday night, March 16th, 2007 at our performance of Sideways Stories from the Wayside School. Each scholarship will cover one Junior Theatre class in each of the winter, spring and fall sessions, and one session of summer camp. Classes may be taken at either our Balboa Park, La Jolla or Chula Vista locations.

To apply, please place all materials (application form, student letter, proof of income and 2 letters of recommendation) in an envelope and send to San Diego Junior Theatre, attn: Christian Rowley Scholarship, 1650 El Prado, Suite 208, San Diego CA 92101, or drop it by our office in Balboa Park. Complete application packets are due Friday, March 2nd, 2007 by 5pm. Applications received after this date cannot be considered. Candidates must be available for an interview, to be scheduled after March 2nd, 2007.
